How To Leap Higher - Exercises To Begin With

 
Are you looking for some fundamental movements to develop your vertical jump? There are several to pick from. Here are some fundamental ones that are an excellent point to start your training. Leg Presses

An additional good exercise is leg presses. Load a leg press machine with weights. Spread your feet apart. Lower the weight until your thighs nearly touch your chest. Then shove the weight back up in an explosive manner. You don't leap in slow motion, so you don't want to train in slow motion. Jumping is an explosive move, so you need to do this exercise in an explosive manner. Repeat this exercise six times - and do five sets. Take a short pause between each set.

Medicine Ball

For our final exercise we will use a medicine ball instead of a basketball. Acting as if you are trying to dunk the ball, leap with the medicine ball in the direction of the rim. Make sure to extend your reach and try to get the ball as high as you are able to. Doing this exercise will develop all the muscles that you will use when you really are able to dunk. As with the leg presses, make sure to be explosive when you complete this exercise.

While these are merely three exercises, they can be a good start to increasing your vertical jump. As you develop, include more exercises to your schedule. Take into account that correct form is just as essential as the weight and the quantity of reps.
