We have all seen it before. Athletes running up and down stairs or out of breath from doing speed ladder drills. Or perhaps you jump rope for 20 minutes and your legs are so tired. You are going to say to yourself, "Now that was a hard workout, surely that will increase my vertical."

These are not examples of training explosively, so they are NOT going to be able to improve explosive actions. I assure you, they will not like the results. You must train explosively and not endurance to increase your vertical leap.

"Explosive" training will seem unusual at first. You won't get the same burn as training aerobically. In a few ways training explosion is easier, it just requires a good deal more focus and short term energy.
